Find helpful information and discover the other services the League has to offer:Academy for Excellence in Local Governance is a certificate training program specifically designed for appointed and elected officials, as well as local government staff who work in Maryland municipal or county government. THE LOCAL is the official publication for the Maryland Municipal League and the League’s in-depth communication vehicle with members, legislators and staff, business and organizations and others interested in keeping up with issues, information, education, and updates for local government leaders. The League's Facilitation Retreat Services help local governments, and especially those experiencing recent turnover, get off to a productive and collaborative start. The League is launching a Field Services program where MML field service representatives work with local governments across five regions gathering feedback and connecting membership to League services and other resources. The LeadForward: Campus to Community Visits is an engagement program designed to increase awareness of local government careers among college students. The program seeks to build relationships between municipalities and higher education institutions while developing a pipeline of future local government professionals. In partnership with ShoreScan, an MML strategic partner, the MML Digital Library is a searchable database containing decades worth of documents relating to all types of questions municipal officials may have. The MD Municipal Careers job board is a useful tool to reach and recruit potential employees, post requests for proposals, and look for new employment opportunities. Free of charge to MML municipal members. The League's Speakers Bureau connects leadership teams with seasoned experts in municipal operations, nonprofit management, leadership development, and strategic planning.
