Banner City/Town Contenders – Stay in the Race!

MML’s Banner City/Town Program

MML's Banner City/Town Program bestows formal recognition each year to cities and towns that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to MML programs and activities.  The program serves as a guidepost on how to make the most of your MML membership.

If a representative from your municipality attended the summer and fall conference, and conducted a Municipal Government Works (MGW) month activity, you are still in the race for your Banner City/Town designation.

Work with your officials to ensure you stay in contention by completing the following criteria by May 27:

  • Attend half of your chapter's events/activities
  • Conduct a school visit (any age, any level) to explain municipal government and its benefits
  • Check the list for opportunities to meet Criteria 5.

If you are one of the 87 municipalities listed (based on 2023 fall conference registration), you are still in contention for their Banner City/Town designation:

Annapolis, Baltimore, Bel Air, Berlin, Berwyn Heights, Bladensburg, Boonsboro, Bowie, Brentwood, Brunswick, Cambridge, Charlestown, Chesapeake Beach, Chestertown, Cheverly, College Park, Colmar Manor, Crisfield, Cumberland, Delmar, Denton, District Heights, Eagle Harbor, Easton, Edmonston, Elkton, Emmitsburg, Fairmount Heights, Federalsburg, Forest Heights, Frederick, Friendsville, Frostburg, Fruitland, Gaithersburg, Galena, Glenarden, Greenbelt, Greensboro, Hagerstown, Hampstead, Hebron, Hurlock, Hyattsville, Indian Head, Keedysville, Kensington, Landover Hills, La Plata, Laurel, Leonardtown, Lonaconing, Manchester, Middletown, Morningside, Mount Airy, Mount Rainier, Mountain Lake Park, New Carrollton, North Beach, North Brentwood, North Chevy Chase, Ocean City, Pocomoke City, Port Tobacco, Preston, Rising Sun, Riverdale Park, Rock Hall, Rockville, Salisbury, Seat Pleasant, Snow Hill, Somerset, Sudlersville, Sykesville, Takoma Park, Taneytown, Thurmont, Union Bridge, University Park, Upper Marlboro, Walkersville, Westminster, Williamsport, Woodsboro
